I've seen the strange scores on my board, especially when I didn't know the answer or guess correctly. When at forst I see a 1000 when it should read 640 or something.

NTN is very puzzling this month. I just can't figure out where all those smart players are coming from who keep scoring the 14,000+ games. We've had games where the lowest Top 20 individual scores are 14,600.
Someway, they have to be seeing the games before we play them.

Thanks for that, my boy tries to play on his ipod and it wangs out on him.

Yesterday we were playing in my local establishment, and the first device ran out of juice after a few questions (why do the charge indicators lie?). Second device didn't work with one of the letters in my password.

My younger boy, he's 11, got 15th nationally in lunchtime trivia. I guess it helps to play on a holiday!

I got a l337 h4x0r badge because the answer to one of the questions was "database" lol.

My older boy is talking about getting his academic team together for some group buzztime that was being advertised.

Of course, the biggest problem is that it seems that once the place has bought the system, the local reps don't follow through to help build a base of players.

One day last week I was working at home, and my older boy talked us all into going to Lampost for an early dinner in order to play. But two of us missed out on questions when the supposedly charged terminals crapped out.

I don't play there as often as I like, but Tequila Hoppers in Upland, California is less than a mile south of Route 66. The original look of Route 66 is long gone in Upland (Foothill Boulevard today is just an east-west route going by shopping center after shopping center), but there is commemorative architecture in some of the shopping centers and medians.

I don't know if it's still there, but Rialto California used to boast a Wigwam Motel (slogan: Do It in a Teepee). That's the closest that I know of any original Route 66 character.

A co-worker of mine goes to Route 66 events in San Bernardino, but I've never been.

We managed to get to #1 for a game yesterday at Donovan's Reef in Twin Lakes, named for the movie.

I was #2 as Parrot.

We went to several Black Angus restaurants back in the 90s, in the Oregon and Washington state areas.

We always used to see one place listed as BA Beaver which was almost always in the Top 20. Intrigued by the name, we found out the Beaver stood for Beaverton and BA for Black Angus.

Some mighty friendly folk there who gave us a list of places to visit in the Portland area.

My mom came from Guin, Alabama, and when I'd visit there as a child we would sometimes go through the town of Beaverton, which was very small. (I don't even think it had a traffic light.) When I ended up at Reed College and heard about the much larger city of Beaverton in Oregon, it was a change.

I can't remember if I ever watched the Portland Beavers minor league baseball team.

We played at several Black Angus places back in the 90s around Washington and Oregon.

We had been playing at our home base at Donovan's Reef inTwin Lakes, Wisconsin, and were fascinated by a Top 20 place we kept seeing called BA BEAVER. Turned out to be Black Angus in Beaverton, Oregon.

I see more and more "Live" trivia games as we travel. Even a few here in northeast Illinois, but they're always later in the evening when I'm home if I've been drinking.

We've played a few times, though and enjoyed it.

If you want to see group interaction, stop at Donovan's reef in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, when the team is playing. We have a blast.

Buzztime seems to work best when the site has dozens upon dozens of TVs. If you only have a few TVs, Buzztime doesn't stand a chance on a sports weekend.

I don't have a smartphone any more, so I've never tried to use any device other than the site specific device.

We play as a family at a local pizza place, mostly because my captain-of-the-academic-team kid is really into it. He would get into it with his ipod, but the technology cuts him off intermittently, a major fup with only 10 or 15 questions in a game.

The other major impediment there is conflicts with major league sports on certain days. The brick site owners have to pay big bucks for that, so they make sure and emphasize it over less popular ntn.

I'm registered, but have never even checked it out on my phone. Funny how the same thing on those site specific devices plus video screens seem much more interesting.

Probably based upon the theory that only younger people can be influenced via advertising, and that boomers have already set their preferences and are therefore undesirable to advertisers.

WoW! Arthur Meyerhoff, Sr. is a triva question? His claim to fame? Hahaha! My brother is dead because of his "precious" PAM, His initals and "Product of". Whya not make a trivia question of how many young people died from his "invention"? No warnign lables of how inhailing this KILLER can effect lives of those who remain. Not to mention the numbers who suffer from brain damage but survived. Wonder if Meyerhoff tested this on animals and it slid on by the those who approved this product and ones like it. DONT BUY PAM OR ANY SPRAY GREASES FULL OF DEATH FOR THE YOUNG!
